If you just want to try it out, I would recommend printing it, using felt tip pens to mark the routes and then keeping the map - not for reuse as a map but because it is very entertaining to look at the routes people generated and what scores they get. I found some of these from our games of the 1980s in the box with the rules and it brought back a lot of memories (good and not so good).

If you wanted something more permanent then depending how much kit you have and how much trouble you want to go to, you could laminate the map and mount it on cardboard. The original board from Games Workshop was not great to be honest - unless you wiped it down immediately it always left a mark - so this is not an easy technology. The way forward is obviously to play digitally and I am having a look at that. As they say, watch this space...

The Railway Rivals name does not belong to me, I don't know who it does belong to and I claim no rights to it. If whoever it does belong to would like to discuss this - or for any other game related queries - I am marionm@castlebank.org (and as a quick advert - check out my blog - Castlebank blog about life in a Victorian House
